In 2010, I contracted encephalitis, which caused severe swelling in my brain tissue. After spending four days in intensive care and another seven weeks in the hospital, I was left bedridden, receiving care from numerous doctors and specialists. In 2013, I was told no medication could cure me, and I was advised I would never be able to work again. With little hope left, I decided to take matters into my own hands and focus on living a healthier life through better eating and regular exercise.
Through my research, I discovered that microgreens and sprouts were among the richest sources of the nutrients needed to heal damaged brain cells. On a limited budget, I began growing and consuming these nutrient-packed greens regularly. Within a year, my doctor was astounded by the rapid improvement in my health, calling it the fastest recovery he had ever seen. Not only did these nutrients help heal my brain, but they also greatly enhanced my overall well-being. Having never been a great athlete or competing in sports since high school, I started powerlifting in 2020. Today, at age 72, I hold 7 all-time American Powerlifting Association Records in Vermont and I'm preparing to set some National Records in 2025.
Before my illness, I founded and operated several successful businesses. My experience in running businesses helped me lay the foundation for Vermont Gourmet Seed Co. I am also a proud graduate of Northeastern University, class of 1971, and the knowledge I gained there has supported me throughout my journey, both personally and professionally.
